Emerging artist and producer Astræa creates a world of cathartic and soul-bearing music, embedding her ethereal vocals within a backdrop of atmospheric and electronic production. The pianist singer-songwriter draws upon influence from classic artists like Tori Amos and Kate Bush with contemporary pop elements reminiscent of London Grammar and Lorde. Her voice is instantly recognizable, as her self-produced cover of Olive’s You're Not Alone soundtracks the latest Lloyds Bank advert. Independently released, You're Not Alone charted in iTunes UK Main Charts (#23) & Singer-Songwriter Charts (#2), Spotify UK Viral Charts (#18), and Shazam UK Charts (#6) and has so far achieved 30,000 sales and 3 million streams across platforms. Astræa’s newest single Anybody Out There was premiered by Clash and features her touching and authentic lyrical style. The track speaks to the universal experience of loneliness while showcasing this rising talent’s skills as an artist, producer, and pianist.

So excited to share my new song with you :) The Other Half is about gender bias, from kids on the playground to the boardrooms of adult careers. It’s about women deserving to have a seat at the table & have their voices heard. This song was written & produced with my friend Jess Sharman a few years ago, inspired by our experiences working as producers in the music industry. It was an emotional day sharing some of the discrimination & bias we’ve faced in an industry that isn’t always welcome to women.
I think it’s so important for music to be a diverse space, to represent the society, lives & experiences of those who listen to it! But unfortunately...
